Hello Macro World

I bought a second hand Tokina AT-X 100 AF F2.8 Macro from Yahoo auction last Friday. It cost me about RM517. Albeit the lens is bit an old version, the previous owner really took a very good care on it. To test the lens, I attached it with my EOS Kiss X and start to shoot around.

My short pant

This sun flower looking flower is ubiquitous in my area

When pollination is successfull, the petals fall. I am so curious how will the fruit looks like.

No idea but I like the propeler like petals

This little bug was really hard to shoot. Recently, I had quit doing post processing and focus more on finding good setting to produce good images. The orginal image, however, was really bad. Thus I did some adjustment with PS and result on this descent picture.

Anyways, I will try to improve and play around with this lens after my presentation next monday. My wife also showed interest with this lens as she actively taking pictures of grass, spider and flowers. That was a very good start and hopefully her interest on photography will increase in the future.

Until then, have a nice weekend.

Kampung kampung

Some pictures I took during our holiday last month in Bundu Tuhan. I was surprised though that it was hot over there too, not so much different with KK. But the second time we went there, it was colder than the previous week.

Tinompok, the entrance to Bundu Tuhan. Those stalls are on the opposite of the entrance.

To open the gate, you have to move the long bamboo one by one. It just to prevent cows from entering my MIL house compound

I like the colors of the mattress, made from different pieces of clothes

Woah! I can see crack. QC people...

Mount Kinabalu in the morning

Mount Kinabalu at noon

SMK Bundut Tuhan as seen from our house

Oh I really forgot this plant's name. Anyone?

I love cats and this is my MIL's new cat. The previous one has fled away.

Slipper orchid, naturally can be found in the house compound

I want to see more closer...more closer.... This picture could be much better if some of those white stuffs flying

...and now I guess I need a macro lens

Ok. Will update with more pictures later. Until then, have a nice weekend.

Note: No post processing applied. Canon EOS Kiss X-Tamron 28-75 mm f/2.8

Snow

The forecast was right. It is snowing heavily out there. I hope it'll be the grand finale.
